Raffy Tulfo: “Kapag hindi po natupad ‘yung kondisyon kong ‘yan… I will resign and I’m serious about this.”
RAFFY TULFO – The veteran broadcast journalist was annoyed with the management of TV5 and threatened to resign after his driver tested positive for COVID-19.
On the March 26 episode of Wanted Sa Radyo, Tulfo said that on the night of March 25 when he came home from TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas, his driver showed flu symptoms.
Then, they went to St. Luke’s Medical Center in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City for swab testing. His driver turned out to be positive on COVID-19 while he was negative.
As a result, he and his driver undergo self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, Raffy Tulfo advised the management of TV5 specifically their Human Resources or HR and all companies in the Philippines to be open to employees or transparent when there is a positive employee so that the employees who encountered a COVID positive will immediately be able to undergo a swab test.
“Ang nangyayari kasi sa ibang kompanya kasama na rin dito sa TV5 hindi e. Malalaman na lang na positive pala ‘yung isang kasamahan dahil sa tsismis. Hindi ba nakakahiya ‘yan? Dapat ‘yan kusa na kayo diyan sa HR magsasabi si Juan ay positive. Si Juan na taga-Library Department o taga-News Department o taga-Technical Department nag-positive para lahat ng mga tao na nasa department na ‘yan o nakahalubilo ng tao na ‘yan alam nang gagawin,” he said.
Tulfo was also pissed off on the policy of their HR particularly the Privacy Act.
“Ang palagi kasing sinasabi e merong ano e Privacy Act, bullshit! Anong Privacy Act kung ang pinag-uusapan na natin ‘yung public health and public safety dapat ma-override na ‘yang Privacy Act na ‘yan. Gamitin n’yo naman kukote n’yo paminsan-minsan kung may time,” he stressed.
He allegedly talked to News5 chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes and they promised him that the COVID-19 test would be regular for their employees.
Tulfo noted that if his bi-weekly antigen test request for TV5 employees will not be fulfilled, he would leave the Kapatid Network.
“Kapag hindi po natupad ‘yung kondisyon kong ‘yan na walang every two weeks na antigen test sa mga nakakahalubilo ko diyan sa news, hindi po ako papasok, I will resign and I’m serious about this,” he said.
