According to Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, the said agreement would cover 30 million Novavax COVID-19 vaccine doses. Roque also said that they can’t yet disclose how much would be spent for the procurement of the said vaccines until the deal was signed.

Pipirmahan na rin bukas, ika-10 ng Marso ang supply agreement with Novavax, 30 million po iyan,” Roque said.

Meanwhile, the chief executive of Novavax Inc. on Monday said that its vaccine could be cleared for emergency use in the United States as soon as May 2021 if United States regulators authorized it based on data from the company’s UK trial, which could be completed as soon as April 2021.

Chief Executive Stanley Erck said that Novavax can already manufacture its shots at scale and would be able to have tens of millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses stockpiled and ready to ship in the US when it received an emergency use authorization (EUA).

It will be substantial — in the many tens of millions or a hundred million,” Stanley Erck said in an interview.
