H.E.R. gave a hilarious shoutout to her Filipino fans.
Grammy winner H.E.R. recently gave a hilarious shoutout to her Filipino fans after her track “I Can’t Breathe” won “Song of the Year” during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
The Filipino-American singer — whose real name was Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson — reposted her TikTok video on Twitter as she imagined what her Filipina Tita would tell her after her Grammy win and impersonated it.
“My Tita Joan would say, ‘Oh my God, I am so proud of you. You have Grammy’s wow. Diamond, is that diamond? Even if you do not win you are still a winner. You are a winner! I like that song, that song you sing ‘I can’t breathe,’” she said using her Filipino accent.
H.E.R. wrote “Shout out to my Filipinos” in the caption of her Twitter post. She even added the hashtag #pinoypride in her caption as well.
