Ex-Governor of Palawan is positive of Coronavirus
Baham Mitra, the former governor of Palawan, tested positive for coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
Earlier, his brother Jorge Mitra took to the social networking site, Facebook to share that the current Games and Amusement Board (GAB) chair has been placed at a quarantine facility after being infected by the dreaded virus.
“Baham has always followed all safety protocols especially in his recent travels to other provinces in connection with his work,” said Jorge.
“We believe his infection may be the new and more infectious variant,” he added.
However, he did not divulge when the former Palawan governor got the virus and why he believed that the latter was hit by a new variant.
Meanwhile, with the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 cases, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in Wuhan, China in 2019.
COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.
Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.
