ABS-CBN took to the image-sharing site, Instagram to announce the suspension of the live staging of the noontime program, “It’s Showtime.”
As COVID-19 cases continue to surge anew in the entire country particularly in Metro Manila, the management of Kapamilya Network decided to suspend the live staging of its shows such as It’s Showtime.
“To ensure the safety of our hosts and production team because of the surging COVID-19 cases in the country, ABS-CBN is suspending temporarily the live staging of “It’s Showtime.” Thank you for your support and understanding.”
COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.
Meanwhile, based on the latest bulletin of the Department of Health, the country has already recorded 663,794 cases after 7,757 new infections were added on Sunday, March 21.
The DOH also reported 39 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 12,968.
On the other hand, the total number of recoveries has been raised to 577,754 after 15,288 were added.
