The PNP would monitor black markets for fake and unauthorized COVID-19 vaccines, according to PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas.
PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas on Thursday said that the Philippine National Police would mobilize teams to look out for black markets for fake and unauthorized COVID-19 vaccines that may have entered the Philippines.
In a statement, Sinas said that he tasked the Intelligence Group, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and other police units in order to organize teams that would conduct the monitoring.
The PNP, according to Sinas, would coordinate with the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

According to Sinas, no particular brand of COVID-19 vaccine was authorized to be marketed commercially in the country as emphasized by the National Task Force Against COVID-19, the Department of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Moreover, Sinas said that the PNP would strictly implement the official policy and would take appropriate police action in accordance with existing laws.
“As emphasized by DOH, NTF, and FDA, no particular brand of COVID-19 vaccine is authorized to be marketed commercially in the Philippines. The PNP will strictly implement this official policy, and take appropriate police action in accordance with existing laws,” Sinas said.
