A Pregnant Mom Sets Herself In Fire At Camp On Greek Island Of Lesbos
PREGNANT MOM SETS HERSELF ON FIRE – Merely a month before her due date, a refugee attempted to set herself in a camp on the Greek Island of Lesbos.
According to reports, the 26-year-old mother, placed her children outside her tent before she burned it with her inside. Luckily, other camp residents, police, and firefighters were quick to respond and helped to put out the blaze.
Apparently, the refugee had suffered psychological problems. After she was released from the hospital, authorities noted that her request to relcoate to Germany was refused.
However, ministerial sources say that the denied application was simply a misunderstanding. Based on an article from Inquirer, authorities asked her to stay in Greece until her child was born. But, according to the ministry source, she did not understand the request.
As such, the woman is now set to present herself to the prosecutor’s office at Mytilene, the main town on Lesbos.
The temporary camp on the island has become home to around 6,000 refugees. Initially, these asylum-seekers were from the notorious Moria camp, the most over-populated camp in Europe.
