JOEY ALBERT – The ’80s singer revealed in an exclusive interview the reason why she left show business in the country.
Joey Albert rose to fame during the 1980s with her hit singles “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin,” “Tell Me,” “Sa’ Yo Lamang,” “I Remember The Boy,” and to name a few.
However, amid the peak of her showbiz career, she decided to leave the entertainment world.

Joey Albert and her family (husband Ting Pacis and children Trixie and Marga) flew to Canada in the mid-90s.
Her career was interrupted brought by serious illnesses.
After surviving cervical cancer in 1995, she was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2003.
She then underwent successful surgery in July 2003 and completed chemotherapy in March 2004.
On January 28, 2015, medical tests confirmed that her cancer had recurred but she had gone through a successful surgery on March 27, 2015.
Despite her illness, she continued her hosting at the same time singing career while being in Vancouver. In fact, she even held fund-raising campaigns at the time.
