Japanese Fisherman Caught Abusing, Kicking Endangered Sea Turtle Stuck In Net
JAPANESE FISHERMAN ABUSING ENDANGERED TURTLE – A poor endangered sea turtle was stuck in a fishing net off the coast of Japan. However, instead of safely releasing the creature, a Japanese fisherman decided to intentionally kick the turtle instead.
Sea turtles are amongst the most endangered species on the planet. Due to pollution, illegal trading, and poaching, these animals are on the brink of disappearing from our planet. As such, they are tagged as endangered and are protected in accordance with international law.
Meanwhile, Japanese fishermen were caught on film abusing this gentle creature. Unfortunately, the sea turtle got stuck in one of the large fish traps the fishermen placed. Afterward, they got a net and took it out.
As it was being carried aboard the ship, one of the fishermen repeatedly kicked the turtle then decided to flip it over its shell. Unable to move, the turtle was seen desperately struggling to escape from its situation.
Here is the entire video posted on Reddit:
Sadly, because turtles, much like most reptiles, lack a diaphragm, being upside down can cause critical breathing issues. This persisted even after the fishermen were done fishing with the nets removed on the side of their ship.
According to the original uploader, local authorities said they won’t do anything about the incident. As such, the user u/Hachidream wanted to spread international awareness.
