The FDA warned the public against counterfeit Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in the Philippines

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday warned the public against counterfeit or fake Moderna COVID-19 vaccine as there’s no available supply yet in the Philippines.

FDA Counterfeit Moderna Vaccine

In an online interview, FDA Director-General Eric Domingo reiterated that Moderna may apply for an emergency use authorization (EUA) in the Philippines “hopefully by next week.”

Based on the recent meeting between Food and Drug Administration and Moderna, Domingo noted that there’s no available supply until June or July 2021.

As such, Domingo said that any rumored Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses available in the Philippines were “likely to be counterfeit”.
