DOH Lists 116,000 Metro Manila Health Workers For Vaccine Inoculation
HEALTH WORKERS LISTED FOR INOCULATION – The Department of Health (DOH) has listed 116,000 health workers in Metro Manila for COVID-19 vaccination.
A year into the coronavirus pandemic, the world now has access to vaccines against the virus. Meanwhile, the Philippines is gearing up to roll-out its first COVID-19 vaccine campaign in Metro Manila this month.
As such, the DOH has begun finalizing the master list for eligible recipients for the vaccine. According to an article from ABS-CBN, Dr. Razel Nikka Hao, deputy to the COVID-19 surveillance and quick action unit of DOH, said:
“At this point, we are in the process of master listing for group A1 or all of the workers in the frontline health-care services“
Hao said the data came from submissions of various health centers in the Metro. Furthermore, she said that as early as January, the DOH had already reached out to local governments for group A1 of the vaccination campaign.
With the government’s vaccination program, health workers will be prioritized. Afterward, the elderly and people with underlying health conditions are next. Then, essential workers, uniformed personnel, and the indigent, are all part of group A.
Afterward, the DOH plans to inoculate people under group B. This includes frontline workers and a special population. Lastly, group C would be at the bottom of the priority.
The DOH stated said it will finalize their list come Feb. 15. With the list of health workers, a massive inoculation program is set to start this month.
Furthermore, the leading vaccines in the world such as Pfizer and Moderna will most likely be used to inoculate the health workers says the Food and Drug Administration.
