A woman has died after being shot at US Capitol amid the storming of supporters of President Donald Trump.
According to the spokesperson for the Washington Police Department, it is still unclear who shot the woman.
But according to a witness, the shooting incident happened when the law enforcers told the people to “get back.”
On Wednesday, hundreds of Trump supporters storm the US Capitol building pleading to overturn the election results.
It can be recalled that during last year’s elections, Joe Biden defeated US President Donald Trump with 306 electoral votes.
Joe Biden earned seven million votes besting the real estate tycoon-turned-politician who won in 2016 presidential seat.
However, Trump is yet to concede as he claims widespread fraud in the US elections.
Meanwhile, a witness told the reporters what transpired in the protest at the US Capitol which led to the killing of a Trump supporter.
“Well, we had stormed into the chambers inside, and there was a young lady who rushed to the windows; a number of police and Secret Service were saying, ‘Get back, get down, get out of the way,'” he said. “She didn’t heed the call and as we kind of raced up to grab people and pull them back, they shot her in the neck, and she fell back on me,” the witness said.
“It could have been me, but she went first,” he added.
