Qualcomm officially launched Snapdragon 870 5G chipset.
Qualcomm officially launched its latest Snapdragon 870 5G chipset which was the speediest version of the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus chipsets.
Dubbed as the Snapdragon 870 5G, the Qualcomm FastConnect 6800 Subsystem and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System were the processor sports.
In addition, the octa-core chipset was built on a 7nm processor using Qualcomm Kryo 585 cores based on four Cortex-A77 mated four Cortex A55.
It also has a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz that delivered an increased performance from its predecessor.
Moreover, the chipset was expected to deliver an improved performance and power efficiency for AI tasks with 15 TOPS (tera operations per second) through the Hexagon 698 processor with Hexagon Tensor Accelerator.

The chipset also comes with a Qualcomm Adreno 650 graphics processor and a full suite of Snapdragon Elite Gaming technologies for a seamless gaming experience as well.
In addition, it supported Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, HDR10+, up to 144Hz QHD+ displays, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, Dolby Vision, up to 200MP main camera, and a 4K video recording with simultaneous 64MP photo capture.
In a report on Yugatech, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset will debut on a Motorola smartphone.
As per the report, OnePlus, vivo, OPPO, and Xiaomi smartphones were slated to release in the first quarter of this year.
