Dr. Bong Cuachon of the Provincial Health Office said that they immediately carried out contact tracing among those who are in close contact with the priest, including the seminarians and staff of his convent in Boracay.

Those previously identified in the contact tracing underwent swab test but allegedly tested negative of the dreaded virus.

It was found out that the priest had a mass on Christmas Day before he experienced the symptoms of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Kalibo Diocese continues to call on all those who come in contact with the priest to immediately report to the health authorities when they feel symptoms of such disease.

Kalibo Diocese said in the issued advisory that Fr. Vernon Justin Zolina, who serves as the parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, is the infected priest.
