How To Connect Phone To Laptop – Troubleshooting/Tips

There are two ways a phone can be connected to your laptop. You could either choose a wired or a wireless connection.

To connect your phone to your laptop, get a USB cable (most charging cables for android devices work) and connect your laptop to your phone. Plug the cable’s charging port to your laptop.

By default, when connecting, the USB debugging would be set to charging for most devices. However, you simply need to tap it to change it to “Media Transfer” or “Files and Photos”. Afterward, you can see the files of your device in your “This PC” folder.

*NOTE*: Some phones need to be unlocked in order for the files to be accessed.

You could also do this wirelessly via Bluetooth. If your laptop has Bluetooth capabilities, then connecting your phone to transfer files should be a breeze.

Simply go to the “settings” option on your windows laptop and click on “Devices” which should show an option for Bluetooth, printers, and mouse/other peripherals.

Then, click on “Add Bluetooth device” and a window will pop-up. Meanwhile, you should also make your phone visible on its settings and connect them together.

Once paired, you have several options to either transfer files, photos, music, and many more.
