18 People Dead After Visit From Santa Who Tested Positive For Coronavirus

SANTA POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS – Following an early Christmas visit from Santa Claus, 18 people were left dead in a care home in Belgium.

According to local reports, the man dressed up as Santa visited the elderly residents earlier in December. However, this man was later tested positive for COVID-19.

Since his visit, the death toll at Hemelrijck care home in Mol, Belgium kept rising throughout the month. Sadly, five more residents died on Christmas Eve and more died the next day.

Reports from VRT totaled the deaths to 18 people in a single month alone. Meanwhile, a total of 121 residents and 36 care home staff had been infected with the new coronavirus.

When results of the tests came back, evidence revealed that most of the viral transmission came from a single source. However, it’s uncertain whether the man in the Santa suit was the origin of the spread.

As a response to the issues, Mayor Wim Caeyers says the man dressed as Santa was a son of one of the residents in the care home. Furthermore, he explained that the Santa kept his distance and wore a face covering.

Additionally, residents also wore face coverings during the early visit. Moreover, he admitted that the Santa visit was a “stupid idea”. However, he explained that the more likely culprit was poor ventilation.
