NCAA and GMA Network officially sealed partnership
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and GMA Network officially sign the landmark deal covering the broadcast rights for NCAA Season 96 to 101 — including the centennial year of the Philippines’ first athletic league in 2024.
This, as the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was held at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Manila last December 17, 2020.
GMA Network was set to broadcast NCAA’s major sports — such as volleyball, basketball, athletics, swimming, and cheerleading.
Furthermore, the Men’s Basketball Finals would be aired on the GMA Network’s main channel, GMA-7.

GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon mentioned that the said team-up with the Philippines’ first athletic league was very much meaningful for the network, adding that they’re looking forward to show the public the world-class talent of young Filipino student athletes and rest assured that they would only give what was best for them as the network wholeheartedly welcomed the National Collegiate Athletic Association into their home.
On the other hand, GMA Network COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. said that having the opportunity to serve as a platform for the National Collegiate Athletic Association in shaping future national athletes was indeed an honor for the network as the supporters and fans of the National Collegiate Athletic Association could expect that the network would pull all the stops in order to bring the best collegiate sports viewing experience for the public.

“More than putting ink on paper, this MOA between the NCAA and GMA Network is really an act of hope, committing the 10-member schools of the first and longest-running collegiate athletic league in partnership with the number 1 multi-media network, to fulfilling the dreams of our student-athletes to healthy and safe competition, and inspiring our school communities and the entire country towards a better way of engaging and enjoying sports, especially in the context of this pandemic,” NCAA Season 96 Policy Board President Fr. Rector Clarence Victor C. Marquez said.
Season 96 Chair Fr. Victor C. Calvo, Jr. said that they believed that with the network’s reach and platforms, the National Collegiate Athletic Association would be the undisputed number one collegiate league in the Philippines.
“The first athletic league in the country and Asia deserves to be in the number one Network in the Philippines. Arriba NCAA @ GMA!” Calvo said.
