Manny Pacquiao Set To Launch Pac Pay, His Own Digital Payment Platform
MANNY PACQUIAO TO LAUNCH PAC PAY – Fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao, amid all his accomplishments, now wants to conquer the digital world.
Recently, Pacquiao announced that his team and a local game developer would be launching a mobile game that follows his career. But aside from this, the Senator wants to establish his own eponymous digital payment platform – Pac Pay.
The platform aimed to connect Filipino Businessmen and investors to clients overseas. Although ambitious, Pac Pay, developed by Pac Technologies is set to launch early 2021.
According to an article from Reportr.World, Pacquiao announced the news during the World Fintech Festival hosted in Manila last week. Furthermore, the senator said that his platform would connect Filipinos to “global influencers and millions of fans”.
Aside from this, the Filipino Boxing Champion also launched his own cryptocurrency called Pac Coin. However, when he launched “pac”, he intended it to be more of a fan marketplace.
Here, fans get a chance to get merchandise and interact with the boxer similar to fanbase projects. Still, the value of pac would behave much like other cryptocurrencies.
As per the article, Pacquiao added that:
Amid this pandemic, we have seen an incredible opportunity to adopt digital technology, including global digital payments. We entered the regional market with the intention of helping our businessmen grow. This will be beneficial to MSMEs and Pinoy customers
However, when Filipino netizens heard about the news, they were disappointed when the payment platform wasn’t called “Manny Transfer” instead. However, since Pacman’s new payment platform has yet to launch, who knows what might happen.
