FILIPINO FINED P168,000 – Taiwanese authorities charged a quarantine violator for $3,5000 for breaking protocol for just eight seconds.

Furthermore, the man who broke quarantine was revealed as a migrant worker from the Philippines. According to a report from CNN, the Filipino was under quarantine in a hotel in Kaohsiung City.

He quickly stepped out of his room and went to the hallway said the city’s Department of Health. Afterward, hotel staff saw the man on the CCTV and immediately contacted the Department of Health.

Because of this, he was fined $3,500 or around 100,000 Taiwan Dollars. Taiwan, known for its incredible response to the COVID-19 pandemic, holds very strict rules when it comes to quarantine.

As per the report, Taiwan’s quarantine rules strictly stated that no person under quarantine is allowed to step out of their room no matter how long or fast this may be.

Additionally, the Health Department said that people shouldn’t think that they won’t be fined for leaving their hotel rooms. Furthermore, the Filipino violators serves as an example for those planning to violate protocols.
