DepEd Usec. Alain Pascua Confirms he Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Experiencing Symptoms
DepEd Usec. Alain Pascua confirmed that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after he experienced mild symptoms.
The Department of Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua announced that he tested positive for the respiratory illness after he was exposed to a COVID-19 positive person. He was exposed to the infected person last December 4, 2020.
Pascua experienced mild symptoms of the disease on Tuesday (December 8, 2020). The DepEd executive is currently under quarantine procedures for medication and he already coordinated with the health authorities for contact tracing.
“I have already advised my staff who had close contact with me last week to self-quarantine as an extra precautionary measure. The Central Office has also coordinated with local health authorities to conduct contact tracing and other necessary interventions to ensure the safety of everyone,” Pascua said.
However, the DepEd personnel expressed his commitment to perform his duty although he tested positive for the contagious disease. He would attend meetings and make decisions online.
The Education Undersecretary also encouraged the public to obey health protocols and quarantine guidelines for their own safety. He is also praying for the fast recovery of COVID-19 patients including him.
