Brazilian Bank Robbers Throw Cash On Street To Help Escape Authorities
BRAZILIAN BANK ROBBERS – Like a real-life scene from La Case De Papel, bank robbers throw out cash on the streets to aid their escape from police.
The robbers took control of the streets of Criciúma, in the state of Santa Catarina. At this moment, the robbers just finished robbing a local bank branch. But, with the police in hot pursuit, the robbers needed a good distraction.
However, according to local reports, it wasn’t actually that big of a heist. When converted, the total amount of money stolen was around R$30,000 or around $5,500. Meanwhile, they scattered around R$800 worth about $120.00.
Reports from Portuguese news site, Globo, reported that around 30 hooded men robbed the Center of Criciuma bank at 7:50 p.m. on Monday. The robbery lasted for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Hostages were taken and police were injured but no side has fatalities. The Criminals fled, and some of the money was scattered through the streets. Value taken and abandoned was not reported.
Unfortunately for the residents who took the money on the streets, they were also arrested. As per the report, four civilians were arrested for collecting R$800.
The robbers also left 30 kilos of explosives on the scene and detonated it as they fled. Currently, authorities are still investigating the incident.
