The COVID-19 vaccines administered to the Presidential Security Group (PSG) members were probably donated, according to Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.
Año also noted that there’s no commercial distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines yet.
Año told ANC that he wasn’t privy if the COVID-19 vaccines administered to the members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) were from the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm.
“For the PSG soldiers, mostly those who are protecting the President. And let’s make it clear no: These vaccines are probably donated by someone who has access to that particular country. There has been no commercial distribution, more on voluntary on the part of the soldiers,” Año said in a television interview.
