A Cabinet official had already been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine, according to DILG Sec. Eduardo Año
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Tuesday said that a Cabinet official had already been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Año told ANC’s “Matters of Fact” that he only knew one member of the Cabinet, but added that he can’t disclose his identity because he didn’t want to violate his right to privacy.
In addition, Año said that he wasn’t privy to what experimental COVID-19 vaccine the Cabinet official received and when the Cabinet official had gotten it.
Año also said that he wasn’t sure about the COVID-19 vaccine, but added that he thought President Rodrigo Duterte mentioned that it was Sinopharm.

Aside from this, Año said that COVID-19 vaccines that were being administered to PSG members were probably donated.
DILG Sec. Año, who was also the vice-chairperson of the Philippine government’s pandemic task force, clarified that he has yet to be inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I have my own natural vaccine because of the antibodies I developed when I got COVID,” Año said.

Año became the first member of President Duterte’s Cabinet to be infected with coronavirus disease as he first contracted the virus last March.
He had tested positive anew last August and had recovered from his second bout of COVID-19 a month later.
