Marikina is also greatly affected by Typhoon Ulysses. Mayor Marcy Teodoro has previously called for help from the national government as many houses in the city were submerged in floodwater.
Residents climbed to their rooftops as the water level increased. The city has 50 rubber boats but those were not enough to get everyone rescued so the Mayor asked for help.
The famous Balesin Island was also affected by the wrath of Typhoon Ulysses. Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda and his partner, It’s Showtime‘s Mr. Escort Ion Perez, were in the resort for a vacation when the typhoon struck.
Vice Ganda and Ion had to leave their villa as trees were falling and the villas in Balesin Island were destroyed amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses. They had to evacuate twice as the place where they transferred has no electricity and water.
Vice, in his post, stated that the situation is quite calm already. He is grateful to God for it.
