Palace lauded BIR for its speedy action on taxpayers’ queries and complaints.
Malacañang had commended the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for its speedy action on queries and complaints from taxpayers.
This, as Director Bernadette Casinabe of the 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center noted in a letter to BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay that the Bureau of Internal Revenue had acted with dispatch to different issues brought to it by the public.
President Rodrigo Duterte formed the panel early in his administration in order to receive complaints concerning corruption and inefficiency in the delivery of services by all government offices.
In response to a letter, Dulay told Casinabe that they’re thankful to receive the commendation and assuring that the Bureau of Internal Revenue would continue to act on complaints, queries, and suggestions from citizens.
Dulay also said that a lot of valuable feedback from taxpayers would help the bureau identify areas that need improvement and served as inputs to their on-going investigation in order to “rid the service of the remaining bad eggs“.

In addition, Dulay said that he’s expecting that the anti-graft investigation mounted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) would help the management in removing undesirable employees and officials.
Moreover, Dulay said that they welcomed complaints, criticisms, and anti-graft investigation even as many taxpayers expressed satisfaction over reforms he introduced.
