North Korea Training Dolphins For Military Likely Says US Naval Institute
MILITARY DOLPHINS – North Korea is possibly militarizing dolphins says the United States Naval Institute (USNI).
We all know that dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals on Earth. For years now, scientist have studied their behavior and get astonished by their intellect.
Being social creatures, Dolphins are known to communicate with other dolphins more effectively than any other mammal. Furthermore, several accounts have shown dolphins responding to distress from both humans and other animals endangered in open waters.
Meanwhile, according to the USNI, satellite images reveal animal pens floating in brown, murky waters. These pens are found between a shipyard and a coal loading dock. But, the peculiar part about this are the warships stationed nearby.
Moreover, looking further up on the river, the images show what appears to be a dolphin breeding facility. However, North Korea using marine mammals for their military isn’t a new project.
USNI created an article that suggests the program dates back to at least October of 2015. Additionally, signs were first seen at the site of a major naval display around Nampo, North Korea.
As per the article, USNI said:
While the U.S. Navy pioneered the training of dolphins and other marine mammals for naval purposes and has a program based in San Diego, it’s not a capability most navies can afford. To date, only the Russian Navy, with bases in the Arctic and Black Sea, has followed suit.
