Kit Thompson: “I don’t want to join the bandwagon”
Actor Kit Thompson gave a reaction in the growing number of Boys Love or BL stories, which feature romantic love between two men.
According to the 23-year-old Filipino-Kiwi actor, he is not into BL stories for now.
He said he is not the type to do a project just because it is trendy.
Kit Thompson gave his message about BL stories during the virtual presscon of the iWant series La Vida Lena last Saturday, November 7.
In the series, Kit portrays the role as one of Erich Gonzales’ three leading men. The other two are Carlo Aquino and JC de Vera.
In the said presscon, he shared that he wanted to try another role.
He was then asked if he’s interested in trying the BL genre.
“The thing is, I feel like ang daming lumabas na BL recently. I feel like it’s so crammed. In 2020, like, ilang mga BL films na lumabas,” he said.
“I also don’t want to join the bandwagon just so I can say I did,” he added.
In recent months, many young actors have starred in BL stories.
These include Kokoy de Santos, Elijah Canlas, JC Alcantara, Teejay Marquez, Jerome Ponce, and Tony Labrusca.
Meanwhile, after his Pinoy Big Brother stint, Kit immediately ventured acting via Kapamilya teleserye “Kahit Puso’y Masugatan.”
He was also seen in the films #Y and The Hows of Us.
Kit also starred in the 2019 primetime series “Sino Ang May Sala: Mea Culpa,” and “Pamilya Ko.”
