DOH COVID-19 update as of November 16, 2020

The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of November 16, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #247 dated November 16, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 1,738 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 409,574.

Also, the Department of Health reported 27,369 total active cases wherein 83.0% were mild cases, 8.5% were asymptomatic cases, 5.3% were critical cases, 3.0% were severe cases, and 0.20% were moderate cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of November 16 only: Davao City with 140 new cases, Cavite with 117 new cases, Rizal with 89 new cases, Laguna with 87 new cases, and Batangas with 79 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 45 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 374,366. Also, the Department of Health recorded seven newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 7,839.

While the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines and the number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing, a natural disaster recently hit several parts of the country.

With this, the Department of Health said that the DOH was ready to provide appropriate response and health assistance despite typhoon “Ulysses”.

In addition, the Department of Health ensured that their service was uninterrupted, regardless of the disaster that the country was facing.
