Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Caesar Dulay had reshuffled 13 regional and assistant directors in preparation for 2021 tax collection drive.
In a report on Manila Bulletin, informed sources said that more major personnel changes were expected before 2020 ends.
Fiscal authorities were expected to assign to the bureau the bulk of the proposed Php 4.5-trillion national budget for 2021 being the premier tax collection arm of the Philippine government.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue was raising roughly 70% of the government’s annual outlay.

Regional directors who were given new assignment were the following: Dante Aninag from Cagayan de Oro City to Cavite-Batangas-Mindoro-Romblon (CaBaMiRo); Gerry Dumayas from CaBaMiRo to Caloocan City; Esmeralda Tabule from Iloilo City to Cagayan de Oro City; Josie Virtucio from Tuguegarao to Calasiao; and Thelma Milabao from Calasiao, Pangasinan to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
South NCR Assistant Regional Director Bobby Mailig was promoted as regional director of Iloilo City.
In addition, assistant directors who were given new assignment were the following: VC Candagen to Calasiao, Rodrigo Rivamonte to Caloocan City, Emir Abutazil to South NCR, Christine Juliet Chua to Iloilo City, Fely Simon to CaBaMiRo, Don Damon Valera to Cagayan de Oro City, and Analynsia Alarde to Laguna-Quezon-Marinduque.
Previously, the Bureau of Internal Revenue wanted barangay officials to assist field officers in serving notifications to taxpayers.
