Bilibid Riot 2020 Aftermath Leaves 3 Dead, 64 Injured
BILIBID RIOT 2020 – Following last month’s brawl, a new riot sparked anew within the confines of New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
This time, three inmates were killed due to the riot in Bilibid on Monday, November 9, 2020. Additionally, 64 more inmates were left injured.
According to the Bureau of Corrections, six other people were currently inside the hospital after the “free-for-all” that transpired at 8:39 a.m. Furthermore, the agency said they would investigate the cause of the riot.
On their official Facebook account, the Bureau said:
On or about 0839H of this date, a free for all scuffle accoured at Maximum Security Compound.
An immediate response from BuCor, PNP-SWAT, PNP-SAD, and BFP personnel was deployed. BuCor personnel who were at the offices during the incident were ordered to evacuate the National Headquarters immediately to ensure that no injuries will be inflicted on them.
Penal colonies were also advised to be on red alert in order to ensure peace and order within their Area of Responsibility…
Investigations will be conducted to identify the cause of the incident. Disciplinary measures will be imposed to those who are responsible. We will give further details after the said investigation.
