Since January 2020, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in different regions all around the world including the Philippines. The virus affects millions of people and even took thousands of lives worldwide.
The infectious disease does not only affect the public’s health but has a big impact to the global economy. The health authorities advised the public to take precautionary measures to prevent being infected.
The Bacolod City mayor reported that 35 out of the 2,383 market vendors in the city have been infected by the coronavirus disease. He said that the number of cases is translated to a positivity rate of 1.47 percent.
“This impressive low figure means that our major markets (Libertad, Burgos, and Central) are relatively safe and, as such, may elicit an enhanced trust and confidence from their daily customers,” Leonardia said.
