Quiapo Church revealed some of the plans for next year’s Feast of the Black Nazarene
Quiapo Church had recently revealed some of the plans for next year’s Feast of the Black Nazarene or “Pista ng Itim na Nazareno”.
This, after the Manila City government canceled Traslacion 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fr. Douglas Badong — the parochial vicar of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene — told ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo that the cancellation of the annual Traslacion didn’t mean that the Quiapo Church was canceling the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
“Tuloy po ang pagdiriwang ng Pista ng Poong Nazareno, hindi lang katulad ng dati“, Fr. Badong said in an interview.

Fr. Badong also shared some of the plans of the church for the upcoming feast, including having more novena masses and urging devotees not to walk barefooted inside the church.
According to Fr. Badong, the church would extend the novenario and all the mass in Quiapo would be a novena mass — every hour from dawn to night — for the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
Fr. Badong said that the church was encouraging devotees not to walk barefooted inside the church due to fears of coronavirus infection.
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,664 new COVID-19 infections as of 4:00 p.m. of October 22, 2020, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines was already at 363,888.
