The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 2,093 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of October 6, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #206 dated October 6, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,093 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,741 out of 2,093 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 326,833.
Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Tuesday reported that eight operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 47,655 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #206 dated October 6, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 6 only: Metro Manila with 557 new cases, Cavite with 253 new cases, Iloilo with 166 new cases, Bulacan with 124 new cases, and Batangas with 118 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 209 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 273,313. Also, the Department of Health recorded 25 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 5,865.
