The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 3,564 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of October 12, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #212 dated October 12, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,564 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 3,197 out of 3,564 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 342,816.
Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Monday reported that 13 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 43,332 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #212 dated October 12, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 12 only: Metro Manila with 1,344 new cases, Cavite with 215 new cases, Laguna with 212 new cases, Rizal with 211 new cases, and Iloilo with 164 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 150 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 293,152. Also, the Department of Health recorded 11 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,332.
