The Supreme Court was “considering” to have online Bar exams next year, according to Chief Justice Peralta.
Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta on Thursday told senators that the Supreme Court was considering to have the Bar examinations administered online next year.
This, as Senator Francis Tolentino inquired during the Senate hearing on the proposed 2021 budget of the judiciary whether the Supreme Court was looking into holding online Bar examinations similar to some states in the U.S.
According to Senator Francis Tolentino, there was now a move because they’re not the only ones confronting the crisis, moved in other jurisdictions, in Michigan, District of Columbia, Louisiana, and also New York to have online Bar exams.
“We are thinking of that. We are considering that next year”, Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta responded.

The Supreme Court en banc earlier announced the schedule of the 2020 Bar Examinations.
The 2020 Bar examination was rescheduled by the Supreme Court because of the increasing number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines, its social and economic effects, and restrictions implemented by the national government as well.
Aside from Manila, Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta told senators that the Bar exams next year would also be conducted “simultaneously” in two sites in Visayas and Mindanao.
