IATF had placed Iloilo City under MECQ, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday said that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) had placed Iloilo City under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) starting September 25 until October 9, 2020.
Citing the “sudden increase” of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in their jurisdiction, Roque said that the “more stringent” community quarantine designation was made upon the request of the local government unit (LGU) of Iloilo City.
Roque said of IATF Resolution No. 74 that that city’s community quarantine classification after the said date shall be decided upon by the Inter-Agency Task Force based on the COVID-19 situation of the said locality.
As of September 24, Iloilo had recorded a total of 2,037 coronavirus cases wherein 895 out of 2,037 were recorded as total active cases.
According to Roque, the said resolution stated that facility-based isolation was now required for mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases across the Philippines.

Roque also mentioned that the said resolution has an exception wherein — as confirmed by the local health officer — the said patient was considered “vulnerable” or “having comorbidities” and that his/her home meets the conditions specified in the Joint Administrative Order 2020-0001 issued by the DOH and the DILG.
Another exception that Roque cited would be when the Ligtas COVID-19 Centers within the said region were fully occupied and the local government unit didn’t have sufficient isolation facilities.
As of September 24, the Department of Health had recorded a total of 296,755 COVID-19 cases wherein 2,037 were recorded as total active cases.
