DOH Reports 2,426 Newly-Reported COVID-19 Cases In PH

The DOH had recorded 2,426 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 2,426 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of September 30, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #200 dated September 30, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,426 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,113 out of 2,426 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 311,694.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. But the Department of Health on Wednesday reported that all operational laboratories were able to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 52,702 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #200 dated September 30, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 30 only: Metro Manila with 887 new cases, Cavite with 201 new cases, Rizal with 147 new cases, Negros Occidental with 115 new cases, and Batangas with 99 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 585 newly-reported recoveries and 58 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 253,488 and coronavirus deaths to 5,504.
