The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 3,962 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of September 19, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #189 dated September 19, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,962 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 3,286 out of 3,962 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.
This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 283,460.
Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Saturday reported that 10 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 68,645 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #189 dated September 19, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 19 only: Metro Manila with 1,440 new cases, Bulacan with 354 new cases, Cavite with 287 new cases, Laguna with 222 new cases, and Batangas with 213 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 1,128 newly-reported recoveries and 100 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 209,885 and total coronavirus deaths to 4,930.
