Cemeteries would only be limited to 30% visitor capacity before and after Undas, according to the chairman of MMC.
The chairman of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) said that cemeteries would only be limited to 30% visitor capacity before and after Undas 2020.
This, as some Filipinos had been visiting their loved ones early ahead of the scheduled closure of all cemeteries in Metro Manila.
In a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras Weekend” last September 20, the Metro Manila Council said that cemeteries would only be limited to 30% visitor capacity in order to prevent possible coronavirus transmissions.
Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, the chairman of the Metro Manila Council, said that there would have a marshall at the cemeteries along with the Philippine National Police.
Olivarez also said that every local government would arrange those vendors who would be dislocated in order for them to be able to sell at the cemeteries before and after the scheduled closure so that they didn’t lose their jobs.

Olivarez’s statement came after Malacañang announced that all private and public cemeteries, columbariums, and memorial parks will be closed from October 29 to November 4, 2020.
As of this writing, the Department of Health recorded a total of 286,743 coronavirus cases in the Philippines.
