Overseas voter registration will resume on September 1, 2020.

OVERSEAS VOTER REGISTRATION — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will resume the voter registration on September 1, 2020 for Filipinos who would be abroad from April 9 to May 9, 2022.

This, as the Comelec said in its advisory that was published on social media that Filipinos who were at least 18 years old by May 9, 2022 but wouldn’t be in the Philippines to vote for the one-month period before the 2022 national and local elections were eligible to register.

According to the said advisory, the Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) will be accepting applications from Monday to Thursday — excluding holidays — from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the ground floor of the Palacio del Gobernador Building in Intramuros, Manila, strictly via way of means of appointment only.

Applicants will be contacted by the Office for Overseas Voting regarding the forms to be filled out and when they could go to Intramuros in order for them to to register.

In addition, applicants were required to fill out a health declaration form and were also required to wear their face masks and face shields when they arrived for their appointment.

Moreover, they must also present their “appointment confirmation slip” and bring with them their Seaman’s Book or passport along with other required supporting documents.

The Commission on Elections also said that all types of applications would be accepted until September 30 next year.

However, the Commission on Elections said that the applications for transfer of voters’ registration records from overseas to a Philippine city or municipality would be accepted only until August 31 next year.
