ECQ May Be Implemented in Iligan After Iligan Mayor Josemarie Diaz & Family Tested Positive for COVID-19
Iligan Mayor Josemarie Diaz and his wife and their son tested positive for COVID-19 or coronavirus disease.
The Philippines’ fight against COVID-19 is not yet over. Everyone is reminded not to let their guards down to prevent contracting or spreading the disease.
The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 119,640 cases of coronavirus in the country as of this writing. Out of the total number, the death toll is at 2,150 now while the recoveries is at 66,837.
PH is under community quarantine measures now to prevent the spread of the disease. Also, the wearing of a face mask and social distancing are part of the protocols.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is also set to implement a mandatory face shield policy on public transportation starting August 15. It covers jeepney, MRT, LRT, and other public transportation including tricycle.
Several heads of their cities contracted coronavirus amid the pandemic. Recently, Ilagan Mayor Josemarie Diaz was confirmed positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on GMA News, his wife and their son also tested positive for coronavirus.
Mayor Diaz, his wife Evelyn, and their son who is also a public servant, councilor Jay Everson, are now under a home-quarantine. Based on the report, the head of Iligan already ordered to place the city under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
The decision to put Iligan City to ECQ may start on August 12. More updates may be posted soon.
