Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim Battling Against COVID-19

Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim is currently in the hospital due to COVID-19 according to his grandson, Manila District 1 Councilor Niño dela Cruz.

The COVID-19 fight in the Philippines is not yet over. The community quarantine measures in some areas in the country were even heightened again following an increase in the cases.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is now a total of 122,754 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the country with 2,168 deaths and 66,852 recoveries.

The doctors and several medical groups called for an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in certain areas following the surge of cases. The health workers wanted a breather to better prepare for the fight against the pandemic.

President Rodrigo Rod Duterte placed Metro Manila and several other nearby areas under a Modified ECQ following the health workers’ call.

Recently, another former public servant was confirmed positive for COVID-19. Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim is currently battling against coronavirus.

Based on a report on Pep, in a Facebook post that has already been deleted, the former Mayor’s grandson, Manila District 1 Councilor Niño dela Cruz, asked prayers for his 90-year-old grandfather who is battling against COVID-19 now in a hospital.

“May we humbly request for prayer warriors to offer prayers of healing and speedy recovery for our beloved Mayor Alfredo Lim who is now confined in the hospital due to COVID-19,” he reportedly stated.
