Zindzi Mandela, the daughter of Winnie Madikizela – Mandela and Nelson Mandela, died at the age of 59. Zindzi’s cause of death wasn’t revealed as of this writing.
This, as CNN reported that Zindzi Mandela — the youngest daughter of Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela – Mandela who was born in December 1960 — on early Monday morning died at a Johannesburg hospital according to the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation also said that the department was still gathering data on Zindzi Mandela’s cause of death, adding that the department was expected to release its detailed statement at a later time.

Meanwhile, the Mandela family officially released its statement as they announced Zindzi’s passing.
In its statement, the family said that it was with great sadness that they announced the death of “Mama” Zindzi. In addition, the Mandela family said that she was survived by her children and grandchildren.
Moreover, the family said that they will announce the schedule of memorial service and funeral arrangements “in the course of the week”.
