Two women in Davao del Norte escaped from quarantine facility due to “boredom”.
Police officials have found two women – one was LSI and the other was OFW – following their escape at the quarantine facility in Davao del Norte.
Based on the investigation, these women escaped as they entered through the canal which was located behind the Santo Tomas College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology in Davao del Norte. Moreover, their boyfriends waited outside in order to pick them out of the facility.

According to Rowela Naungayan, a Municipal Health Administrator at Santo Tomas in Davao del Norte, their main reason for their escape was that they’re just “bored”, adding that they didn’t wait for their COVID-19 test results and decided to escape instead.
As a result, these women would face charges for violating the Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases the Health Events of Public Health Concern Act. Moreover, their partners who helped them escape from the quarantine facility would also face charges.
These women had been returned to the quarantine facility in Santo Tomas, while their boyfriends had been quarantined as they had closed contact with the PUMs.
