PH-registered cargo vessel caught fire in Batangas, according to the PCG.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Monday said that a Philippine-registered cargo vessel caught fire at the vicinity of Marikaban Island in Batangas.
This, as Commodore Armand Balilo, the spokesperson of the Philippine Coast Guard, identified the said vessel as M/V Moreta Venture.
According to him, the Command Center of the Philippine Coast Guard had received a distress call — which was relayed by BRP Tubbataha (MRRV 4001) — about the said incident involving M/V Moreta Venture at 4:53 in the morning.
Balilo also said that all officers and crew onboard the said vessel were all safe and accounted for.

He added that BRP Boracay (FPB-2401) then immediately responded and was currently in the area in order to provide assistance.
Balilo then said that a helicopter from the Philippine Coast Guard will also give assistance to M/V Moreta Venture.
