DOH reported new COVID-19 cases for today, July 2, 2020
The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today, July 2, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 294 new coronavirus cases wherein 52 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 242 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 38,805 as of 4:00 p.m. of July 2, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 10 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 17 repatriates, and the remaining 25 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 50 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 28 repatriates, and the remaining 164 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Thursday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 235 additional recoveries and four new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 10,673 and total fatalities to 1,274.
