The Department of Health (DOH) reported new coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of today, July 20, 2020.

According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #128 dated July 20, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,521 new COVID-19 cases wherein 1,209 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 312 were identified as “late” cases.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 68,898. Although DOH shared during its virtual presser on Monday afternoon that the total number of COVID-19 cases was at 69,898.

According to the Department of Health, the newly-confirmed cases on Monday were reported based on the total tests done by 62 out of 84 current operational laboratories.

Other Stories

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 607 new recoveries and four additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 23,072 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,835.

Moreover, the Department of Health reported 43,991 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #128 dated July 20, 2020.

The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of coronavirus cases as of July 20 only: Metro Manila with 1,237 new cases, Cavite and Laguna with 51 new cases, Rizal with 34 new cases, and Davao del Sur with 22 new cases.
