DOH reported new cases of coronavirus disease for today, July 4, 2020
The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of today, July 4, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 1,494 new coronavirus cases wherein 403 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 1,091 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 41,830 as of 4:00 p.m. of July 4, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 180 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 90 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 133 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 499 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 146 were from Central Visayas, 12 repatriates, and the remaining 434 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Saturday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 380 additional recoveries and 10 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 11,453 and total fatalities to 1,290.
