Testing kits were currently “sufficient”, yet other laboratory supplies constituted a “challenge” To DOH, according to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Monday said that the limited number of other laboratory supplies continued to constitute a challenge to the Department of Health in addressing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the Philippines.
This, even though Vergeire said during an interview on GMA Network’s Unang Balita that supplies of testing kits were now sufficient.
Vergeire specifically mentioned automated extraction machines and other logistical supplies as among the items that were on “limited supply” in many local laboratories in the Philippines.
She also said that the Department of Health received the testing kits that the DOH had procured last Saturday, adding that they were set to deliver the testing kits to laboratories within the week.
