Twitter recently banned a user — who was a pro-Trump meme maker — from the platform due to his repeated copyright violations.
This, as Logan Cook — a Kansas man who posted using his Twitter account name “Carpe Donktum” — had been permanently banned from Twitter last Tuesday night, which was days after he posted on his account a video criticizing CNN that used “doctored footage” from the news channel.
The said clip — which United States President Donald Trump previously retweeted last week — used CNN footage from 2019 about the friendship of two toddlers, one Black toddler and one White toddler.
Logan Cook then manipulated the clip, set it to “ominous music”, and inserted a fake misspelled caption saying “Terrified todler runs from racist baby” then a certain clip from the original CNN video before airing the message “America is not the problem. Fake news is the problem”.
Twitter then added a “manipulated media” warning tag on the said video. Although it was originally posted in 2019 yet received significantly more attention following Donald Trump’s retweet.

Logan Cook — who also posted his work to different platforms and websites aside from Twitter — said in an interview that his posts were “satirical” and were therefore “exempt” from the platform’s copyright rules, adding that he believed Twitter was simply looking for a reason in order for the platform to boot him.
He also said that Twitter didn’t like his politics and the platform found an excuse in order to get rid of him.
Logan Cook’s Twitter account has been temporarily banned multiple times in the past due to violations of the platform’s copyright rules. In a report on Inquirer, Cook was also banned for eight (8) days in 2019 for posting his video depicting United States President Donald Trump as a “cowboy” attacking CNN journalist Jim Acosta.
Moreover, Twitter rules prohibit Logan Cook from creating his new Twitter account in order to replace his old account, which already had over 270,000 followers at the time of his suspension.
